Chief of Police

Interim Chief Dave Hagar was hired with the Coeur d’Alene Police Department in March 2016.  He has served as a Captain over both Patrol and Investigations after retiring from the City of Mesa after nearly 24 years.  Interim Chief Hagar has worked in or led several specialty units during his law enforcement career including Special Operations, Aviation, Criminal Investigations and Internal Affairs as well as serving as a SWAT Team Commander.  He attended Arizona State University and received a Bachelor in Business Administration and a Master of Public Administration.  Interim Chief Hagar has engaged with several community groups and serves locally on the Board of St. Vincent DePaul.
