Neighborhood Watch

The purpose of the neighborhood watch program is to strengthen community safety by encouraging residents to stay aware and look out for one another. It aims to reduce crime through increased visibility, communication, and proactive prevention efforts. The program also works to build strong connections between neighbors and local law enforcement, creating a shared sense of responsibility for keeping the community secure and well‑informed.

The following are steps to start a Neighborhood Watch group:

  • Establish a volunteer coordinator or small leadership team
  • Create block captains to oversee smaller sections of the neighborhood
  • Maintain a contact list for residents who want to participate
  • Set up communication channels (email list, text group, app, or social media page)
