Encroachment Permits with Irrigation Permits
Anytime a contractor/homeowner is applying for an irrigation permit AFTER the house has a CO or TCO then there will be a $50 charge for an encroachment permit. Working in the swale, crossing the sidewalk and working in the area between the curb and sidewalk or working at a stub in the meter box (unless the stub is at the house and they are not connecting to the water meter that is in the public right-of-way) all will require a $50 encroachment permit. Any work in the public right-of-way requires an encroachment permit. It is the responsibility of the contractor/owner pulling the irrigation permit to know whether work is taking place in the public right-of-way.
Failure to pull the required encroachment permit may result in a stop work and/or additional fees.
