Community Opportunity Grant

Each year, the City of Coeur d’Alene invites competitive grant proposals for projects that benefit low- and moderate-income (LMI) people or neighborhoods, and/or promote job creation/economic development. Funding for the City’s CDBG Program is provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), (reference 24 CFR Part 570). Applicants must comply with all applicable federal, state, local laws and regulations. Each year, Community Opportunity Grant funding is made available, with a maximum of 15% of the total allocation available for public service projects. Other eligible projects will also be considered including Public Facilities and LMI Affordable Housing.

National Objective Codes

The Three (3) Main National Objective Codes We Use Are: 

• LMA - Low/Mod Area Benefit Activities providing benefits that are available to all the residents of a particular area, at least 51% of whom are low/mod income.  LMA areas can be identified using the City's LMI Census Tracts Map

• LMC - Low/Mod Limited Clientele Benefit Activities that benefit a limited clientele, at least 51% of whom are low/mod income. LMC activities provide benefits to a specific group of persons rather than to all the residents of a particular area.

• LMH - Low/Mod Housing Benefit Activities undertaken to provide or improve permanent residential structures that will be occupied by low/mod income households.
