Fire Inspector - Craig Etherton
Inspector Craig Etherton began his fire service career as a volunteer with Post Falls Fire Department in 1997. He has been with the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department since January of 2003 where he held the rank of Firefighter/EMT-A. He was promoted from the line in December of 2012 to the rank of Fire Inspector and has been an Idaho State Fire Inspector since 2000. Craig is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators. Which there are only 12 CFI's in Idaho and 2,104 world wide. This is a great accomplishment.
He is also a member of our Technical Rescue Team where he is an instructor for Rope Rescue. Craig is a CPR and first aid instructor and is the current President of the Kootenai County Fire Prevention Cooperative, Treasurer of North Idaho Code Enforcers, Secretary of Kootenai County Fire Chiefs Association, a former President of the Idaho Chapter International Association of Arson Investigator and the 2013 Coeur d’Alene Fire Department Employee of the Year.
His current duties include: Safety inspections of commercial buildings including daycares, building inspections and plan reviews, fire investigation and public education.
